Who: Asbjørn & Ruby.
What: Moonpool hunting.
Where: Sobek Croix.
When: A week or so after Bad Blood.
Notes: Glow in the dark shenanigans!
Warnings: Partial nudity because swimming in moonpools.

Prior to the bad blood business, Asbjørn had learnt that there was something in the forest surrounding Sobek Croix, in that roundabout 'I heard it from a guy in a pub, who heard it from his sister's hairdresser' sort of way. The locals were wary. A few magic users he'd encountered, who had lived in the city for several years, had nudged each other and shared knowing looks. And thanks to being cooped up in his flat with nothing better to do than lick his wounds and read, a few books on local history and landmarks had hinted at interesting things.

...what's telling is that he took that information and decided a place widely rumoured to be haunted was best explored after dark. At some point during the day, Ruby would have gotten a text that read:

up for a late night forest adventure in sobek croix? i can promise food, good company and supernatural goings on. and only one of the last two things is me.

As stated on the invitation, Adrian is throwing a costume party to celebrate Lex's twenty-fifth birthday at the Luthor-Veidt Building in Brock Marsh. Everyone is welcome, whether they know Lex or not. There's plenty of food and free alcohol (mostly wine, fancy beer, and champagne), music and a space for dancing, and room to mingle and make new friends. Some simple and classy decorations, purple of course, have been put up on the first and second floors to create a festive atmosphere.

(A note to those who might try to take the opportunity to go snooping: security is insanely tight. The elevators will not go beyond the first and second floors without a special code, and there's an elevator operator who is very obviously there to make sure you don't try anything funny. The stairwells are likewise under guard and the private areas of the first floor are locked and under camera surveillance.)

[ooc: Please wait until a few threads are set up before tagging! Party time! Everyone is welcome!

Note: I've turned off notifs so if you need my attention in a specific spot, please PM or plurk me.]

Who: OH GOD IT'S A BEAR GET IN THE CA- wait. Also you.
What: Asbjørn has taken a day off to go buy stuff for his new place.
Where: Around Griss Twist and Aspic, specifically The Bazaar. State where in your narrative or title!
When: Misdi late morning and afternoon.
Notes: None.

A sad fact of life is that while bad things happen and people can be awful to one another, life inevitably has to go on (or at least until the next citywide attack, and even then most people find a way to move on with things relatively quickly). Which meant moving, paying rent, picking up second-hand furniture and buying knick-knacks for around the house, which you weren't entirely sure you really needed but this is the first time you'd ever faced life without an IKEA kitchen starter pack.

Or at least that's how it is for Asbjørn. Today he'd struck out further afield than his new neighbourhood of Howl Barrow and he'd been ridiculously happy to find a stall in The Bazaar that sold a very similar candy to one that could be found back home. Some days you just have to take the little joys while you can.

Who: Ruby Van Alst & Severus Snape.
What: Visiting the apothecary where Severus works to discuss dream problems.
Where: Said apothecary.
When: Afternoonish, probably Givdi or thereabouts.
Notes:
Warnings: idk, Snape.

After contending with the fog (an experience she was in no hurry to relive) and making sure that she'd sent out the appropriate antidotes to the appropriate people, Ruby became interested in learning more about the methods of other individuals who tried to assist in alleviating the fog-serpents' poison. She's fairly certain that this won't be the last time that people come back from the fog with poison in their psyches, and she'd like to be prepared, in the future.

She briefly stops outside to look up at the brick building, considering its less-than-inviting exterior. Probably most people would be a little more...nervous about just wandering in to ask a bunch of questions, but this is a girl who once traveled cross-country and insinuated herself into a stranger's life on a hunch, so as a rule, she is not prone to doubting her impulses. ("Headstrong" is not even the word for it.)

She comes into the apothecary with a bag slung over one shoulder, and looks around for someone--she's sure (intuitively) that someone is there, but she's distracted pretty quickly on by some supplies to the left of her. Ruby recognizes their purpose, and thinks that even though she's here to compare notes, it couldn't hurt to do some shopping in the meantime. Ruby pushes her loose hair back, tucking it behind her ear, and meanders the tightly-packed aisles.

Who: Candy and You
What: Exploring the town
Where: All over really
When: Today at any time (specify in subject if you have something particular in mind)

It wasn't so hard for her to adjust to the city. She was used to moving from one place to another ever since she originally left her home. Before that she'd always been in one city all her life. Now she found the idea of skipping worlds less daunting than a normal person found the idea of moving just one state over sometimes. It wasn't that she wasn't impressed, she was still very impressed by it all, just that she adapted better now.

Though the adapting she had to do here was the flow of time. So used to every hour getting it's own island and time flowing so unnaturally that natural time made her feel weird and discomforted. She was always awake at odd hours now and sleeping at the wrong times. Still, she was adjusting again and she liked to use her free time to explore. It was no good to live in a place and not even know what it was like.

Who: Raylan and Ruby (maybe others/NPCs later?)

What: Time for employment!

Where: The employment office

When: Givdi afternoon

Notes:

Warnings: Nothing so far!

Raylan had to accept, eventually, that like it or not he was going to need a way to pay the rent. He doesn't like to think he's anything more than a prisoner in Baedal, but he couldn't stay in the inn forever, and the bed and breakfast will eventually expect him to earn his keep.

As he fills out the stack of preliminary forms, however, he can't help but think he's a specialist who will be unlikely to find an opening in his specialty.

He glances at the other woman in the waiting area, as he pauses over a section. It feels oddly like being in the guidance councilor's office in high school.

Who: Ruby Van Alst, MANY PEOPLE to be added as they appear
What: Impromptu enjoyment of the late summer weather
Where: The beach
When: Early afternoon to evening
Notes: N/A
Warnings: N/A

The unrelenting summer sunshine of Baedal is a direct contrast to where Ruby was before, and it's something of a relief. She likes each season equally for her own reasons, but...right now it feels as though she's absorbing the light more than ever, pushing away all the darkness of what she'd done. It lets her float around with the breathless enthusiasm she'd first manifested at the party on her arrival night, and she hasn't really slowed down very much yet.

(At some point there will be coming down, at some point she will have to breathe. But not yet.)

The beach sand is hot, the water is clear, and Ruby is in the process of stripping down to her colorful bandeau bikini. She squints up at the cloud-dotted sky, and stands carefully on the pale blue terrycloth towel she brought with her; eventually she'll make the mad dash across the dry sand to the cooler water, but for now, she is waiting to see who will turn up--there are a few people she expects, but she's open to surprises. Fortunately, it's not exactly hard to find Ruby, given her height and her vibrant hair color.

Who: EVERYONE
What: Réjean has decided that more people ought to celebrate and help raise a bit of dosh for one of his favourite bars. See: flyer.
Where: The Apache.
When: Misdi night and into the wee hours of the morning.
Warnings: Discussion of Pickman's manky feet.

The Apache is much the same as it always is: dimly lit, with the jukebox playing in the background, and the bartender serving whatever's on tap. Tonight, the bar is packed with people from all across the city, different cantons and cohorts, all out to celebrate surviving the fungal plague. Patrons are encouraged to buy tickets for a door prize with the proceeds going to repair the damage tunnelling ants made to the cellar.
