Who: Will! Kaitlyn! Fauxlivia! and Jason!
What: by their powers combined, they are VAGUELY CONSPIRATORIAL AND ANTI-MILITIA
Where: assorted places
When: assorted times
Notes: did I forget anyone help I have a brain like a sieve. ALSO don't feel like pressured to immediately sign them on, this is possibly more like "so this is how Jason meets your characters and takes interest in them" thing. Presumably he'd also stalk them for a bit, to the best of his ability (UNSURE) let me know how you feel about that possibility.
Warnings: captain planet; spinach dip

There are a million things to do, which is really how Jason prefers life to be. He's all over the city talking to people, some of whom he returns to, some of whom he never sees again; he buys things, steals things, stores things, moves things. It's not all carefully planned, either. Some people and things he simply comes across in his travels, and he keeps his schedule flexible enough to accommodate these opportunities.

His funds are limited. Criminal conquest is more fun with more money, but sadly, Talia isn't here and if she were, she wouldn't have the al Ghul resources with her. Of course, she could actually be here and simply declined to contact him. Or she could be here, just a version of herself that never became involved with him, or from before such things happened. He tries not to think much about things like that, primarily because it's pointless and he has so many more important things to be thinking about. Still, there are empty, waiting moments on the train or the streets where his brain revisits these ideas, for reasons beyond his comprehension or capacity to care. But he reaches his stops, he finds something else to observe.

He's starting to settle in, as much as anyone can settle in, here. He's got a job he enjoys and an apartment he doesn't mind and maybe a couple friends. Will figures he's doing reasonably well for himself. Everyone knows him down at Tinker's Lot now, his neighbors don't bother him, and he's starting to piece together his favorite places to go to blow off steam.

So he learns the train routes and schedules, he goes shopping occasionally, and he gets used to mundane things like carrying a messenger bag and having hard currency. Nothing seems too jarring when everything is wrong, and Will's adaptable. If he focuses on the immediate problems of livability and keeps himself reasonably occupied, he's fine. Things start to look familiar.

He doesn't so much ignore the tension underneath as set it aside, put it away for later. There's not much he can do about it now, and he's a practical soul. If he wants to get to a place where he can, he needs to have his feet firmly under him and a clear head. Hitting up dance clubs doesn't always help with that, but a guy's allowed his vices, right?

When: All day Veerdi

Over time, Jay had fallen into a bit of a rhythm. He would wake up in the morning and go to work, spending the day at whatever train stations they sent him to based on the nature of what needed to be done that day, then after work he would either go directly to Tinker’s Lot for a few hours, or he’d go to Mafaton and pick up some rats if he was running low. On this particular day, he was running low.

When he went to the pet store, as he often did, he lingered by the snakes. Getting a snake would certainly allay any suspicions that may form that he was, quite simply, eating the feeder rats that he bought, but snakes were very expensive. He certainly wouldn’t want to get one and just eat it right away. Maybe if he got a male and a female of the same species, though, he could breed them for a steady supply of a higher quality food, or at the very least use the offspring to flavor the rats that he ate to make them taste a bit better.

He resolved to do this, but not at once. It would be difficult to transport all the supplies needed, after all, in addition to a snake and the feeder rats he’d need, so instead he settled on getting the largest tank he could find for the future snakes, as well as getting as many supplies as he could fit inside the tank for ease of transportation, as well as some rats for himself.

It was a bit difficult carrying all that back to his apartment, but he was definitely glad he did so before actually getting some snakes. He’d get more supplies over time, and then after that might have to save a few weeks before getting the actual snakes, but he figured that should increase the quality of his meals.

Later, after getting everything home and settled, Jay headed back out to Tinker’s Lot, spending the day improving and modifying the Pigeon Trap he was designing, which was now a thing of gears and metal that travelled on four legs and was powered by crystals.

Belatedly he realises this is a bit of a bad idea, that he still feels like avoiding everyone who actually knows him, but... he really does need that chain to fix his bike and Will has been really nice to him, he doesn't want to blow the guy off like a jerk. And he really is going to be in the area anyway -- as his money's dwindling, he's been finding more creative ways to make money, and the life drawing class he somehow agreed to model for went well, if it was a bit embarrassing. (That's more people to have seen him naked in one day than his entire life previously.) Donating blood in Mafaton went less well -- in that the abdead phlebotomist stared at him the whole time and then caught him on the way out to hiss come back soon into his ear, thoroughly freaking him out.

They paid him a lot, though. He'll probably go back.

Since fixing his bike is a high priority for him, he decided to suck it up, took a couple shots of that whatever-it-is he's been keeping in a flask in his bag, and got on the skyrail northwest from Howl Barrow. His face is still a mess. The bruising is finally starting to fade and that cut on his head looks less hideous, but the rest of him is, as ever, impeccable, even if he could probably use another jacket. (Baedal is so cold, he's used to living somewhere where it's 20°C year-round.) When he gets to the property he pauses, hovering on the edge of it -- it's a lot bigger than he thought it would be and some of those machines are frankly fucking terrifying. (Fascinating, yes, he's dying to know how they work, but terrifying.) He is very difficult to miss, he's a million feet tall and looks rather out of place and lost.

Malfoy had given him a name, a location; there he gets a few more names, days to try the bazaar and rough descriptions of vendors. Shops sell parts and machines that can be cannibalized. He sifts through boxes of scrap, one day runs across a Marlin hood ornament that's been turned into a necklace. Along the way a man with skin that crumbles like rotting leaves fingers the puckered scar at his chin and mentions the lot.

Don keeps track of all this himself. He likes maintaining the truck: it's absorbing work, and the results are right there for him to see. It's good to know it's waiting out there in the barn.

He enters Tinker's Lot for the first time with a list in his back pocket and a hand-drawn map he has to show someone to make sure it's oriented the right way. The place is parts and more parts scattered into the distance, corpses of vehicles that have been picked clean, looming contraptions that move with alarming unpredictability. He hates to gawk, but he has no choice as he picks his way through the yard.

He catches a hint of motor oil in the air.

When: Givdi/Thursday, all day.
Notes: Heyyyy, giving this a try. :|b I never have anything interesting to put in this field.
Warnings: None!

Scheduling at Tinker's Lot can be a bit tricky - there's always someone testing something, but it's hard to tell how long any particular trial is going to last. Out of the several things Will's been hired to try in the last few days, only one or two have been anything approaching successful - but it means he usually has some downtime between jobs, at least. It also means that, since he only had a couple scheduled runs this morning, he's free to spend the rest of the day looking around for a place to live once it's time to leave the Inn at the end of the week. He's not exactly sure what his budget's going to be, then, but he's got enough of an idea to ride the train around town and look at what's available.

He's still a little bit sore, but his body is readjusting as quickly as can be expected to an entirely new set of exertions and conditions, so taking a long walk (even if half of it is spent crammed into a train compartment) is probably good for him.

Who: Will and Bruce Tom
What: Will has a shiny new job, Bruce is... looking for things.
Where: Tinker's Lot
When: Misdi/Tuesday
Warnings: Not to start with!

This is, technically, Will's first day on the job. He'd spent most of the day after party trying to pour his angry energy into his job search, because there wasn't much else he could do. It figures that he'd get pulled from one bad situation into a worse one, and one where he doesn't even know how to begin to fight back. There has to be some resistance movement somewhere, if things are that bad, even if there's a total media blackout, but he's not acclimated or connected enough to try to seek it out. He's pretty confident in his ability to not get killed, but he's more careful than he used to be.

None of that is showing right now – not when he's a few hundred feet above the ground and attempting to control a – actually, he's not even sure what it is. He'd been surprised, yesterday, when he was told to show up at 8 o'clock sharp, but now he's figuring this is probably a difficult job to fill. He pulls hard on the lever in front of him, attempting to even out the – whatever, he's going to call it an ostrich. He's never seen a real one, but he thinks he remembers them having ridiculous legs like the giant metal pair he's currently perched atop of.

“Can you get it to jump?” the green guy he's currently working for shouts from the viewing platform, and Will spares him a glance before he's being jerked sideways again.

“I'm working on it,” he yells back, lurching forward again. He's not too optimistic about it, since this thing doesn't really even walk all that well. Will got the hang of the controls pretty easily, but it's not a very responsive machine.
