Who: Tommy and Kate
What: Having coffee and making fun of each others' accents and maybe some mantears idk

Tommy speeds over to Kate's and he's knocking on the door before he even finishes sending her a reply over the CiD. He pushest his goggles up on his forehead when he comes to a stop. It spikes his bangs up into a mess, but in his opinion he looks good any time, so he's not embarrassed at all about it. Instead, he waves when the door opens, and grins maybe a little wider than usual, to cover the fact that his mood isn't exactly the best. It'll even out when he distracts himself with Kate's company.

"Yo. What's goin' on?"

"No you don't. All those carbs will go straight to your butt." He snaps that off so fast with such a deadpan that it almost sounds serious... but he's really not.

Your bum is super fine, Kate.

Super fine, perhaps, but she can't help but glance down at it before reaching out to shove Tommy's head sideways. "Now I know how to get you to stop looking at it."

Moron.

"Aaaaaah." Tommy whines and holds his head, overexaggerating a swoon. "The pain! I think you caused some serious damage there!"

He collapses to the ground, twitching dramatically. "The light! It's dimming!"

Yup. The biggest moron.

"There wasn't much to damage in there anyway."

So she says as she steps right over him to get a table. He can stay eat his slice right there if he wants to, Kate doesn't care. She likes to eat like a human being with manners sometimes.

Tommy stops moaning and glares over at Kate's back. "You suck, you know that?"

A quick shake gets most of the dirt off of him when he stands up, and then he's strolling over to the table ~~in slowtime~~ at a normal pace, pouting.

"Soooo much suck. Suck to the five millionth degree."

"And yet, you're still here," Kate retorts as she raises her brows at Tommy.

She means in the general, still hanging out with her, trolling her, flirting with her, still on the team, so on and so forth, way. Though, for her effort, she hasn't exactly sent him away either.

"It's my act of charity for the day. If I didn't hang out with you, no one would, and then you'd waste away from lack of social interaction."

On one hand, he probably should stop. On the other hand, it's just so fun to let loose and snark at someone without worrying that he's going to get attacked or make Mom mad or something. Kate's comfortable in a way that no one else is, except for maybe Billy.

"I had friends before you. I'll have friends after you. In fact, I have other friends that are not you right now."

She's right. There's Claire and Raven and... There's Claire and Raven and that's all that matters right now. But admittedly, which she would never do, Kate would miss Tommy if he wasn't around. He keeps the team on their toes and sometimes, they need somebody to be the class clown.

"Besides, I'd find something else to do over hanging out with people. No big deal."

"Ah, but even though you have 'other friends'," and here he makes quotation marks in the air with his fingers, "I am here and they are not. So obviously I am more important than them. Because I'm your favorite. Right?"

He grins and maybe invades her personal space a bit more, trying to wheedle an admission of affection out of her.

"No. Not really." He is important to her, just like the rest of the team. As for her favorite, that's still to be decided.

"You're here because I offered food and I feel like being nice to jerks." And just like that, she shoves him away. Gently. Lovingly. Maybe.

Tommy flails back from the shove, laughing. "Bitch. You're lucky you're feeding me."

Then he sneaks back in and gives her a one-armed side hug. "I'm glad you're here, y'know?"

"That'll be the first and the last time you call me bitch and keep breathing, you know?" She doesn't really mean it and her tone is the least threatening ever. And Kate actually lets him hug her which shows she doesn't take what probably counts as a term of endearment to Tommy to heart.

"Me too. Only you being here, I mean," she replies, poking him in the ribs. This little family's all some of them got. Kate knows when to appreciate them even if they annoy her sometimes.
