It's like paradise, spread out with a butter knife :: [OPEN]
Who: EVERYONE
What: Réjean has decided that more people ought to celebrate and help raise a bit of dosh for one of his favourite bars. See: flyer.
Where: The Apache.
When: Misdi night and into the wee hours of the morning.
Warnings: Discussion of Pickman's manky feet.
The Apache is much the same as it always is: dimly lit, with the jukebox playing in the background, and the bartender serving whatever's on tap. Tonight, the bar is packed with people from all across the city, different cantons and cohorts, all out to celebrate surviving the fungal plague. Patrons are encouraged to buy tickets for a door prize with the proceeds going to repair the damage tunnelling ants made to the cellar.

... Yes, this is the first thing he's bringing up, complementary muscle. Whatever.

"Single when I left and single when I arrived, if that's what you mean," she laughs. "I've run into a few people I know, it's been...a little odd in a couple of cases. Dawn's living with me for the moment but she's doing her own thing, and we've a guest on the couch, but mostly it's just me. Was that Wanda I saw?"
no subject
"Good, good. Glad you doin' okay." He looks over his shoulder to scope out where his girlfriend is, then- "Sure was! She's.. doin' her thing, over yonder. It's us and her kids." ... Yep.
no subject
"You know me, give me some computers or machinery to fiddle with and I'm good." She turns her head to find Wanda in the crowd, and then looks back at Remy with a warm smile. "Yeah? Kids, huh? Good. I'm really glad you two are still together, and happy."
no subject
"Let's sit down for a bit, no? Tell me what you been up to."
no subject
"All right," she agrees, with a shrug, grabbing them a recently-deserted table. "Though it's not all that exciting, honestly. I can't really remember for sure what was going on when I saw you last. Um...I guess you didn't know that Jack went back to New York?"
no subject
"I dunno, he kinda flaked out and vanished," Remy tells her, plunking down and making sure he can see the whole of the bar with ease. He doesn't sound too terribly bothered - he and Jack were close, but Remy's loyalties will always be on a curve; Jack was neither a mutant, nor female. "I had stuff at home goin' on, for a while. I actually got locked out of the multiverse for like a month." As casually as he delivers that, it can't be anything flippant - he'd have been cut off from Wanda and their household.

"He went back to his restaurant. It was only right, I mean that was his dream. I just didn't dare go with him." She recognizes the hardship that must have been involved for Remy to be away from his loved ones for that long (she thinks it might feel something like the weeks that always followed putting Tommy back into the freezer, until Tommy was gone for good), and reaches for Remy's arm. "You made it back, though. And it sounds like you all made it here together. That's what counts. You survived."
There are other things a person can survive besides physical harm, after all.
no subject
"How'd you do, with all this crazy shit up in here lately?"
no subject
The fact that she can think in terms of 'been dead already' and know that Remy would understand says a lot about why can pick up where they left off, after all this time.
"Got here in the middle of the monkeys and crows thing and got really comfortable with a shotgun. I spent this last one tucked away in Hellsing headquarters, though. You were probably right out there in the thick of it all, right?"

"I like working there! It's interesting to work for women for a change. And considering how difficult it is to scrounge up modern technology here, I'm grateful for a job that lets me work with what's available. And...it's nice to be back in the game."
no subject
Skeptical doesn't quite cut it.
"Huh." It's hard to tell, but his opinion is actually a little shifted, knowing it's run by women. "Long as it's good for you. Seems like this place needs the help though, with the Militia and all."
