Costume Party in Honor of Lex Luthor's Birthday [OPEN]

As stated on the invitation, Adrian is throwing a costume party to celebrate Lex's twenty-fifth birthday at the Luthor-Veidt Building in Brock Marsh. Everyone is welcome, whether they know Lex or not. There's plenty of food and free alcohol (mostly wine, fancy beer, and champagne), music and a space for dancing, and room to mingle and make new friends. Some simple and classy decorations, purple of course, have been put up on the first and second floors to create a festive atmosphere.

(A note to those who might try to take the opportunity to go snooping: security is insanely tight. The elevators will not go beyond the first and second floors without a special code, and there's an elevator operator who is very obviously there to make sure you don't try anything funny. The stairwells are likewise under guard and the private areas of the first floor are locked and under camera surveillance.)

[ooc: Please wait until a few threads are set up before tagging! Party time! Everyone is welcome!

Note: I've turned off notifs so if you need my attention in a specific spot, please PM or plurk me.]

No drink in Ilde's hand; hers are both folded over the glass wand of her mask, held loosely in front of her and pointed to the ground. It seems like she's carrying it around more for something to play with than any real interest in wearing a mask, drawn to pretty things as she is. It's evident in person (moreso than it is over the network, just like her appearance) that her attentive air is equal parts a sometimes-disconcerting capacity for focus and simple necessity, her eyes on his lips when he talks and keeping him in view when she's talking to avoid missing an interruption.

"At the estate, my father had a room for practise that was all white, and had almost nothing in it but the piano." It's actually a slightly chilling memory, nowadays, but when she was young she found something reassuring about the clean coolness of it. The leather notebook he'd usually have in there was purple, she remembers, and that's probably why she mentions it now- sometimes her wandering thoughts leave her conversation a little disjointed, for all that charm.

"A little out of place with the rest of it," she adds, contemplatively, "but it was a less eclectic place than this is, generally."

The tangent earns Ilde a brief stare, nothing overly critical, but notating the eccentricities as the conversation once again comes full circle. Perhaps the alcohol and general sense of mirth have caught up with him or it might have been the intoxicating concept of a piano. Complete relaxation is too generous a word and, quite frankly, near an impossibility for his demeanor. He remains well aware of the residence he is in and the occasion. Anyone who speaks to him happens to be a component of said factors.

"You mentioned that you were writing down your father's compositions. I would still be interested in hearing them."
