Costume Party in Honor of Lex Luthor's Birthday [OPEN]

As stated on the invitation, Adrian is throwing a costume party to celebrate Lex's twenty-fifth birthday at the Luthor-Veidt Building in Brock Marsh. Everyone is welcome, whether they know Lex or not. There's plenty of food and free alcohol (mostly wine, fancy beer, and champagne), music and a space for dancing, and room to mingle and make new friends. Some simple and classy decorations, purple of course, have been put up on the first and second floors to create a festive atmosphere.

(A note to those who might try to take the opportunity to go snooping: security is insanely tight. The elevators will not go beyond the first and second floors without a special code, and there's an elevator operator who is very obviously there to make sure you don't try anything funny. The stairwells are likewise under guard and the private areas of the first floor are locked and under camera surveillance.)

[ooc: Please wait until a few threads are set up before tagging! Party time! Everyone is welcome!

Note: I've turned off notifs so if you need my attention in a specific spot, please PM or plurk me.]

This being the first time he has actually set foot in his son's home, Lionel can't help but inspect the details of the architecture and decor himself. While there are some echoes of his old residence in another world, it's the patchwork of taste, designs and the essence of a different world that he finds fascinating.

Upon spotting another admirer who seems to be lacking in the costume department, he steps up (swashbuckler attire and all) to share the view.

"Remarkable, isn't it?"

"Impressive." The array of styles neatly reflected the idea of Baedel, although perhaps less jumbled and significantly more elegant. Whether that was the intention of the designer or not, Boromir didn't know. Although he might ask later on.

"And somewhat nostalgic," he says, turning to face the other man with a slight smile. "It's been some time since I've stood inside a grand house. Work excluded." Hellsing's Guild Hall was certainly striking although occasionally in need of repair, what with the line of work. He had almost forgotten finery due to the constant need for function.

His brows raise neatly and evenly as if to say ah, is that so? with a brief nod of approval.

"The city seems to reek of it regardless of background or a particular place," he refers to the nostalgia mentioned by the fellow admirer.

"Lionel Luthor," he extends his hand as a formality.

"I don't doubt that it's part of a calculated charm." As pretty as the city was in parts, it was still a cage, regarldess of the gilding. It didn't bother him as much as it did others -he should be dead, after all- but it never quite left his thoughts either.

"Boromir," he replies. No surname (although every so often he had considered styling himself one) and quite used to shaking hands as a form of greeting by now.

He's not particularly perturbed by the lack of surname, but it is made note of mentally. He has heard stranger in a world of more reasonable circumstances.

"You must be in outstanding favor with my son or his security if you managed to get in without a costume." He'll admit, mostly to himself, that it is an impressive feat. Though generally amused, there may be a hint of accusation attached to that statement to those that happen to be looking for it.
