Costume Party in Honor of Lex Luthor's Birthday [OPEN]
As stated on the invitation, Adrian is throwing a costume party to celebrate Lex's twenty-fifth birthday at the Luthor-Veidt Building in Brock Marsh. Everyone is welcome, whether they know Lex or not. There's plenty of food and free alcohol (mostly wine, fancy beer, and champagne), music and a space for dancing, and room to mingle and make new friends. Some simple and classy decorations, purple of course, have been put up on the first and second floors to create a festive atmosphere.
(A note to those who might try to take the opportunity to go snooping: security is insanely tight. The elevators will not go beyond the first and second floors without a special code, and there's an elevator operator who is very obviously there to make sure you don't try anything funny. The stairwells are likewise under guard and the private areas of the first floor are locked and under camera surveillance.)
[ooc:Please wait until a few threads are set up before tagging! Party time! Everyone is welcome!
Note: I've turned off notifs so if you need my attention in a specific spot, please PM or plurk me.]

...Look, he didn't know what else to wear. He at least left the shield behind?
...Downstairs. At the coat check. Just in case.
He's been briefly separated from Shiori, as the two of them said hellos to various acquaintances, but he knows she'll come up here looking for him. So he waits, folded into an armchair, back straight, hands folded in his lap.
A lady drops into a chair opposite his, in this little sort of circle the chairs are arranged in around a coffee table. He smiles at once, all good manners and warmth. "Good evening, ma'am."
no subject
"Good evening, sir," she replies, with a grin that hopefully shows she's teasing and not mocking. "That costume is boss. Are you something like...'America Guy'?"
no subject
"Thank you, ma'am. And sort of. I'm Captain America. It was... back during the war." He forgets, sometimes, that people don't have the same frame of reference here, that there have been many more wars since his war.
"But my name's Steve Rogers, ma'am."
no subject
Then he says his name, and she leans forward with a look of excited surprise. "Steve Rogers from the Inn? I'm Raven! I was the girl in the room next to yours!"
no subject
But his face lights up in recognition at her name, and he scoots forward on his chair so he can offer a hand. "That's me. It's nice to meet you, Miss Raven. And to be able to put a face to your name."
no subject
She shakes his hand, still smiling and pleased to meet him face to face. "Same here, although you're not really getting the real Raven. This isn't my normal hair." She tugs at a red strand. "I'm glad to see you finally got out."
no subject
He nods instead at her hair, smiling. "I wouldn't have guessed. You did a swell job with it."
no subject
"So what have you been doing? Got any new insight into why you're here?"
no subject
He raises his eyebrows in the universal expression of ...well, his shoulders hunching up just a touch, not quite a shrug. "No new insight, unfortunately. Wish I had more to tell you about that. But I did find work, at Hellsing. I'm going to help with fundraising and do some field work when I'm needed. What about you?"
