It's like paradise, spread out with a butter knife :: [OPEN]

Who: EVERYONE
What: Réjean has decided that more people ought to celebrate and help raise a bit of dosh for one of his favourite bars. See: flyer.
Where: The Apache.
When: Misdi night and into the wee hours of the morning.
Warnings: Discussion of Pickman's manky feet.

The Apache is much the same as it always is: dimly lit, with the jukebox playing in the background, and the bartender serving whatever's on tap. Tonight, the bar is packed with people from all across the city, different cantons and cohorts, all out to celebrate surviving the fungal plague. Patrons are encouraged to buy tickets for a door prize with the proceeds going to repair the damage tunnelling ants made to the cellar.

"That sounds excellent, thank you." Both for smoking and for privacy. Ivan is in no real rush, but on the other hand, if he can get business squared away, it would be just as well to get it done early.

"Intriguing." He withdraws his cigarettes and offers one to Réjean, which feels only polite. "More idiosyncrasies to get use to than most cities."

Ivan considers that as he lights his cigarette.

"I don't wish to waste your time. I've been trying to keep a low enough profile, but I kept my ears open, and you seemed like a good place to start." He exhales a jet of smoke. "I don't wish to unwittingly step on any toes. If there's territory, or some sort of arrangement going on here."

"It's a peculiar circumstance, that people can't come and go," he agrees, taking the paper. "I know how to be subtle, but I'm used to having the luxury of moving on."

He'd probably need to try the bars, at least supplementally, but from all he'd heard in his own world, it wouldn't work for him. At least not for any length of time. Granted, he could probably find willing donors in the city, but he wasn't fond of that idea either, if he didn't have to.

"Hellsing; I noticed them coordinating with this plague mess. Are they official, with the government?"

Ivan considers this. "Fair enough. Anyone else in particular I should be careful not to piss off?"
