The Apache is much the same as it always is: dimly lit, with the jukebox playing in the background, and the bartender serving whatever's on tap. Above the doorway and wound through a few of the sets of antlers some enterprising soul has placed a garland decorated with little blue and green fish.

One has to go with one's strengths. Angela is very good at talking, and Tadhg is very good at stealthy. Among other things.

He leans in and gives that grin a quick kiss before replying. "Not bad at all. The better for seeing you, of course." A quick wink, and he signals the bartender for a glass for himself and a refill for the lovely lady.

"I see I get flattery for the holidays," she remarks, reaching out to brush her hand down his arm. "Speaking of getting things, I got you something. It's not big. Or good, for that matter. But it'll be useful in the future."

"You get the truth, lovely one, I assure you," he laughs. "But that isn't all. I have a little tangible something for you as well." He collects his glass and takes a sip. "Shall we exchange gifts somewhere?"

For a quick second, this assurance, the exact wording of it, sends Angela reeling back to only a handful of months ago. Somebody else told her the same thing, called her the same name, loved her the same way she loves him. She'd be a liar if she said she didn't missed Cinna, but life and love moves on. Everything is transient, even if she's unintentionally slipping into a rebound thing because loneliness is painful.

But she shakes her head, clearing the fog from her mind, and grins wholeheartedly at Tadhg. "It's not exactly a gift either so don't get too excited." Money is short. She's been trying to save up to move out of the inn and into her own place and this means no extras or holiday presents for those closest to her. At least right now.

If Tadhg sees any sign of Angela's distraction in her face or patterns, he says nothing about it. Everyone not born in Baedal has loved ones left behind, and bittersweet memories that claim them at moments expected and unexpected. Some of Tadhg's memories flicker in his eyes as he slips an arm around her shoulders.

"Your company is more than gift enough, a chara," he says simply, touching his glass to hers with a light clink. "I need the comfort of friends tonight."

"Why? Is something wrong?" She studies his face for a sign of something gone bad, but Angela can't get hints off of him. He, to her, is a little hard to read, but that only feeds into Angela's concern more and more.

He smiles wryly and shrugs. "Nothing horrendous, and nothing new either. My oldest brother's birthday was yesterday, and normally I would have spent it with my family." Tadhg takes another sip of his nog before continuing. "So homesickness has a little tighter grip on me than normal."
