St Kelley's is one of the more sedate occasions in Baedal, at least as holidays go. It passes more or less unnoticed by the majority of the population as many of them feel it doesn't concern them. It's not their holiday; it's for the others. Those with severed ties and broken hearts. The temple and church preach that it's a time for reflection or for glorifying the generosity of the gods. It's one of the few days on which no one looks askance at first generation Citizens mourning their missing loved ones publicly.

As night rolls around and floating lanterns are set to sea, the Apache in Mog Hill prepares to accept guests from the newer cohorts. It's something that happens every year, making it a practical tradition. The alcohol will be cheaper for first timers, and the music will be kept at a reasonable level.

Hasi picks up, a bit, on Jim's tone--it's not difficult to gather that this is someone who is important to him, and she definitely wants to make a good impression. For her part, she's not hard to charm--especially with old-fashioned manners, judging by the pleased note her smile takes when her hand is kissed.

"The pleasure's all mine, Dr. McCoy. I'm very glad we finally got to meet--and please feel free to call me Hasi." She remembers the conversation she had with Jim about people going home and coming back, now, and she can't help but wonder, but she's not about to let a second of that show in her expression. "You two don't mind if I stick around over here for a little while? This bar's a madhouse, and I could use the good company."

Jim Kirk may have a talent for catching the attention of women everywhere, but he's convinced that careful long-term study would show you it's McCoy who has a talent for actually charming them and looking after them. His CMO has actual good manners, gentlemanly ways come by honestly and cultivated over years, not Jim's sometimes superficial I-behave-because-Starfleet-beat-it-into me good graces.

"Not that Bones isn't good company all on his own, but we could always use more," he says, glancing at McCoy for confirmation--not that he expects anything else, Bones isn't going to send a lady packing. "Please, stay."

As though McCoy is going to send a beautiful woman packing - especially one that's important to Jim. "If you wouldn't mind," he echoes with a nod, glancing back at Jim as though to say are you serious? like I would. "Can I get you something to drink?"
