St Kelley's is one of the more sedate occasions in Baedal, at least as holidays go. It passes more or less unnoticed by the majority of the population as many of them feel it doesn't concern them. It's not their holiday; it's for the others. Those with severed ties and broken hearts. The temple and church preach that it's a time for reflection or for glorifying the generosity of the gods. It's one of the few days on which no one looks askance at first generation Citizens mourning their missing loved ones publicly.

As night rolls around and floating lanterns are set to sea, the Apache in Mog Hill prepares to accept guests from the newer cohorts. It's something that happens every year, making it a practical tradition. The alcohol will be cheaper for first timers, and the music will be kept at a reasonable level.

"I did!" He offers, cheerily, "I haven't been here long either, and there wasn't really anything that I wanted, but I thought that the boats looked very beautiful, and I enjoy being involved in such things."

Putting both hands on the table, he leans against it, steadying himself slightly, "Were you brought something in return?"

She shakes her head. "Not yet. I'm keeping an eye out, though; I imagine if it's true, it'll be cropping up fairly soon." She pushes her glasses up on her nose, peering at him a little more closely. "Have you heard of anyone receiving anything yet? I thought we'd have heard something by now."

Shrieky nods, a little blearily, before fumblingly tugging up a piece of cord that's tied around his neck and disappearing into his tee shirt. Strung onto it, there's a ring. "This came for me. I know someone else who got... a doll? His sister's, I think. And someone got a Yankees cap."

He pulls a little face at the word 'Yankees', because he's been taught to treat that like a dirty word.

She leans closer to have a look at it, eyes bright and curious. "Oh, what a lovely ring." His last words, though, make her smile a little, confused. "Yankees? You mean the American baseball team?"

"It was my friend's, from when he was married." Shrieky's expression stays cheerful, as he glances at the ring himself. The question allows a hint of puzzlement to creep into his expression, and he drops the ring back down again, "I'm... I'm not sure, possibly? The lady who told me about it said it as though it was something bad, so, depending on how terrible that group is, it's possible."

"Oh, I see." Lily shakes her head, then smiles. "Americans are very passionate about their baseball, so I suppose it only makes sense that they'd demonize one team over another."
