St Kelley's is one of the more sedate occasions in Baedal, at least as holidays go. It passes more or less unnoticed by the majority of the population as many of them feel it doesn't concern them. It's not their holiday; it's for the others. Those with severed ties and broken hearts. The temple and church preach that it's a time for reflection or for glorifying the generosity of the gods. It's one of the few days on which no one looks askance at first generation Citizens mourning their missing loved ones publicly.

As night rolls around and floating lanterns are set to sea, the Apache in Mog Hill prepares to accept guests from the newer cohorts. It's something that happens every year, making it a practical tradition. The alcohol will be cheaper for first timers, and the music will be kept at a reasonable level.

Ana loved parties; she'd always loved them. Ever since she was a child parties were something that made her glow and grin. Even in college, even after college, even after she'd become the Baroness, parties were always the best part of her job.

And parties being part of her job meant that they were a great place to make contacts. Not just professional contacts (though she could use some of them) but also personal contacts. Perhaps being here was a second start to have some friends.

Or something.

But for now she moved up to the bar wearing a black dress. stilettos and a smile as she moves up to the bar carrying a a glass of something that is very much like wine. She's tempted to move onto stronger drinks, but hasn't yet.

Jae, meanwhile, moved onto stronger drinks some time ago - the time around when he turned fifteen, in fact, and hence has been hitting it kind of hard all night. As per usual.

At the moment, he and the bar tender are attempting to explain the merits of bombs to a few confused (but entertained) looking xenians. And since it just so happens to be near where this lovely lady is sidling up to the bar-

"You look like you're from Earth," Jae says. "Back me up here, Jager bombs are awesome, yes or no?"

Ana still hadn't quite gotten past the whole Earth being a different world here thing, so she couldn't stop the surprised movement of eyebrow sheading towards her hairline. However, this was a party and she grinned at the man who was asking her.

"Jagger bombs are brilliant. They're good for waking you up after a tough day on the job and keeping you up so that you can stay at the club and dance all night." Looking for all the world like a party girl who missed those sort of nights, Ana grinned.

"They really need to get redbull and jagger over here. The good stuff, the stuff from Germany. The real stuff."

Jae laughs. "See?" Ladies have taste, yo.

"You know what they do have is licorice booze, it's like - completely natural so it's like root moonshine, it's insane - nobody believes me about the merits of putting a decapitated deer head on the bottle, though."

There's a brief discussion with the bar tender about what he wants in the bomb, and Jae opts for beer. "I'm classless, I know."

Ana just grinned at his laugh, and then she inclined her head as if considering the merits of deer blood and licorice moonshine. "Well, at least with something with that proof, we'd know it'd kill whatever little organisms are kicking around in it's blood. Possible selling point there."

"It all depends on what kind of beer you're drinking, I think. If you're drinking the Baedal equivalent of a PBR, then you're either classless or a hipster. Of course, being the hipster would mean that you were classless." Teasing, or not, it was hard to tell in her voice.

Ana looked to the bartender and ordered one of the bombs with vodka; at least that would help get her a bit drunk.
