Ilde has a plan.

She's been quietly researching her options for some time now - it'll be expensive, but not out of her reach, and she's written it all out with elbow room, makes herself budget for worst case scenarios. She's good with money, actually, with figuring out how far she can make it go and thinking ahead with it; she'd always worried, when she was younger, and even if in her position it had largely been neurosis she'd still taught herself genuinely quite useful life skills.

She falls on her feet, this one. She hits the ground running just so long as she knows where she's running to, and therein lies the rub.

So she has a plan. She has a list of names (Dr Charles Xavier is at the top of it, and she's not entirely sure about that but Erik trusts him, but Remy doesn't trust Erik, which means she shouldn't entirely rely on his judgement, but his friend seems all right and comes highly recommended--), and everything she already knows she needs to do, some of which is going to be easier than the rest. No more alcohol for a while will be easier than no more cigarettes; quitting smoking will probably be easier than dealing with the medical profession, which is more to underscore how much she doesn't want to do that than how easy it's going to be to stop smoking again.

(She doesn't think of the first time as quitting because it wasn't.)

Ivan doesn't want to be involved. That's fine. She didn't expect him to, although the fact he doesn't intend to leave her (and the more immediately salient point that she doesn't intend to let him) means he's there on her list because steps will have to be taken, there's not going to be any fucking accidental baby-eating. Sonja can probably help with that; Sonja, also, is by necessity and by the nature of their relationship (which Ilde serenely refrains from actually defining, it just is), probably going to be significantly more involved. They live together, this is their home, this is not just Ilde's life that she's about to profoundly alter, so the first thing she does before she does anything more than think it to death has to be to talk to Sonja. There are certain things that she can't decide by herself and there's something that makes her feel terribly safe about knowing that. About it being not just her life, and not just her concern.

“Do you have, um, a minute?”

...to deal with Ilde and her endless array of lists, spread out over the kitchen table. Yes. (If she's accounted for everything, then there's no reason for anyone to tell her no, that she shouldn't--)
