• Swap Meet Spreadsheet: Pre-chosen swaps are green. Assigned are blue. There were a few characters that were selected more than once, so objects were assigned on a first-come first-serve basis. If you have any issues or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the mod team.

The Apache is much the same as it always is: dimly lit, with the jukebox playing in the background, and the bartender serving whatever's on tap.

Barbara nods, smiling faintly. "She's...pretty understanding, that way." She'd hinted at it - at doing something emotionally exhausting, occasionally horrifying - but she'd let Angela assume other things. She's become so good at that type of thing.

"I'll give her a ring." Not that the CiDs ring, but Steph knows what she means.

"The civilians here are weird," there's a wry sort of smile attached to the statement, Steph shifting to pull her knees up to her chest and wrap her arms around them. It's about both Angela and the other people Steph has met.

She'd shown Lea what her boon could do without hesitation. Because she'd seen Lea fix the fairy lights, because everyone in Baedal has secrets and their cohort knows not to ask questions. Sometimes she thinks about how many people know she's Batgirl and it's a little scary.

Barbara gives a slight nod, returning the smile.

"Probably because a lot of them aren't your typical civilians." She's wondered often enough if that was some sort of criteria for being brought here.

"...What's it like? Patrolling the city." She knows the basic facts, of course. She knows anything vital that Steph finds. But she doesn't know how it feels, compared to Gotham.

She nods for the first part of what Babs says, and gives the question a moment of thought. Because it is different, but it's hard to put into words.

"We're not the norm, here," We being people who run around in costumes and fight crime, "And it's - tenser. Because of the militia, so there's a lot of distrust. And my symbol doesn't mean anything."

She's had people run from her, both because they're scared she's a bad guy and because they worry she's drawing the wrong kind of attention. There's something else, though, and Steph grows very serious as she looks at Babs.

"People know me. Not just in costume. The monster invasion might've made me an easier target to track down," If Batgirl makes a move against the militia, it could lead back to Steph Brown. It's scary, when she thinks about it too much. But Babs needs to know that Steph is, in a way, compromised.

Barbara's expression steadily changes as Stephanie goes on, from wistful interest to grim scrutiny. She's silent, for a moment, contemplating the information.

When she speaks, she leans forward, her voice a low murmur.

"Maybe we should make you an alternate costume for militia business."

Steph nods, "It's something I've considered." She's done it a few times in a small way, swapping her Batgirl costume for simple black clothes.

After a moment, she reaches into her pocket and passes the device she'd recieved to Babs, "I think the gods are on our side. Or at least one of them. It's an invisibility device."

Her Babs back home would recognize it, but Steph isn't sure if this Barbara will.

"We'll need to find some good materials for it." A fleeting, wistful smile; she remembers hunting them down for her own costume, so many years ago.

She accepts the device, eyes narrowing with interest as she turns it over in her hands - and they widen excitedly when Steph explains just what it does.

"That's - " Wait. With an upward glance, "When did you get an invisibility device?"

"Legal channels haven't turned up anything," Which means she's already started looking, and that it's nigh impossible to find decent kevlar or nomex (it's probably controlled by the militia). But there's always the illegal channels.

"I stole it from S.T.A.R Labs after I came back from Africa," Somehow her expression manages to be both sheepish and proud of herself, but she quickly adds, "I gave it back, but I guess the gods decided I needed it."
