“The city is, ah, it makes it easier for people to settle in.” As much as she likes Baedal, on the whole...well, she's reserving judgement about a lot of how it manages itself.

Or she's reserving comment, anyway.

Benevenuta laughs, pushing her hair back from her face as she finally flags down that bartender and acquires another drink, in the meantime. New glass in hand, she says, shaking her head, “My credulity has been stretched so far here, who's to say? But I mean the infrastructure, yes, of course.”

Shepard smiles faintly. "It's there, which is good at least. Showing up here with no explanation at all and nowhere to stay would've been much worse. Still, I think the members of the cohort have been even more helpful with, uh, explaining the ropes so far."

“I suppose it's a bit of we're all in the same ship, yes?” Boat. Whatever, English isn't her first language, you're lucky she's been picking up the idioms at all. (--she is remarkably adaptive, but that's because she's old and a liar.)

That's okay, Shepard gets it. Besides, she's heard weirder things. She deals with aliens on a regular basis, after all. "Yeah, I think that's definitely a big part of it. Makes people more willing to help each other out."
