» she said, "hello, mister. pleased to meet ya."

Who: Kate and John
What: A mutant walks into a bar library....
Where: The Library of the Blessed St. Brian
When: Shundi afternoon

With it being Shundi (Kate still calls it Sunday purely by habit), the library's quieter than usual. Only a handful of people mill around the shelves, getting around the place with practiced ease and familiarity. Not that Kate minds much; it's less work that she has to do. However, less work also means more boredom, so a pencil finds itself as a makeshift hair clip holding her long dark hair out of the way as she spins around slowly in her chair at the information desk.

Only four more hours of this and she can stop by Wanda's for a free dinner.

One of the reporters needs some kind of source checked, so John's been sent to see about it. He remembers asking Kate about the shelving system and he still doesn't actually know how it's done, so way to go, Samizdat. He wanders the shelves for a bit, loathe to ask for help, but it's not anything he remembers... then again, it's not like he was so familiar with the Dewey Decimal System in the first place. Finally, he spots Kate and sidles up to her desk.

"Um, I have a complaint... the librarians in this place seem super bored and like, wasting away," he says, deadpan.

He makes a show of pulling out a notebook and writing that name down. "Ohhhkay. Should I also be like 'hey this girl Kate said I could have a job, hire me'? I could make a great doorstop."

Or maybe he could actually try doing his job. But that's for later!
