In the midst of rising tension in the city, Hellsing is busier than usual. New blood (ha, hah) is always welcome, but especially so these days. The guild hall is perhaps oddly quiet, though it's only because most agents are out on cases. Those with appointments will be seen promptly.

"And you, doctor." Settling with a small smile, she folds her hands over the file she brought with her and considers him for a moment, glancing once at Integra. "I understand that you're familiar with...'xenobiology'; what concerns me is your ability to cope with the necessity of magic and its effects being associated with the treatment of some of our employees. I understand that men of science often find such things...challenging."

(Her tone suggests this is a flaw, but a forgiveable one that must simply be overcome.)

"We do have several magic users on staff," Integra supplies. "In my experience, magical injuries often involve a lot of troubleshooting and research even if the attending healer is a mage himself."

McCoy spreads his hands. "In my experience, Princess, 'magic' is most often science that hasn't been explained yet - but I've already seen a lot of things since coming here that I could never explain with science, so I'm willing to learn whatever I can to help those in need here, whatever that may mean."

"An understandable attitude, and I have seen my share of credulous humans create explanations for what is simply beyond their present comprehension," Nuala inclines her head, "and I am merely concerned that you don't allow yourself to be limited only by your experience." Her frankness is important, she feels; they'll better be able to work to avoid these things if they're honest and straightforward about what's necessary, and her intention is clearly to achieve that and not to insult him.

"There will be times when one of our mages will be required to assist you- when you will need to work in tandem, in some way- and it's important that you'll be able to adapt to this. We have great respect for your ability as a doctor; that you give the same respect will be a good place to begin."

"If it is easier," Integra begins, "Think of it like alchemy. I've been made to understand that in some worlds, that branch of magic never made the leap from science, and remains a pipe dream. It is not so, everywhere."

"As long as the people I'm working with are good at what they do, I will respect them," McCoy replies, which is entirely honest. He might not like them, he might avoid them like the plague outside of work, but he'll respect the hell out of what they can do and he'll never let that cross into professional territory. "I may not understand it, but I'll respect it."
