For someone who is young both in body and mind, it shouldn't be this hard for Kiden to find something to do with herself these days. But with a lack of Laura by her side and her new found partner-in-crime Tommy probably causing mayhem without her, Kiden's left to stroll up and down the city blocks looking for trouble to get into. Let her tell it, trouble just follows her, but it doesn't help that she invites it closer to her with open arms.

She could get a job. Granted, she could use the pocket change, but really... last time she had a job she did it because she had rent to chip in for. Here in Baedal, she just freeloads off Remy and Wanda for the moment. They keep offering her food and a place to stay; she isn't ready to tell them no.

Far be for Kiden to turn down food, but she's busy picking at the corners of her pita bread instead of the falafel part. It's not that she doesn't like the dish; it doesn't taste nasty or anything, but it's an acquired taste for her. She would have preferred a hot dog or maybe even a pretzel, but it's Laura's treat and Kiden doesn't want Laura to feel bad or anything, if she even has the ability to.

But the one thing Kiden won't stand for is this guy yapping their ears off. She's tuned him out long ago, but there's a difference between her and Laura. Kiden feels like she has to answer his inane questions, no matter how many he asks. This honestly is getting old.

"Is he ever gonna shut up?" she whispers, leaning into Laura so the old guy won't hear her.

"Yes," she says. Which is a pretty useless answer, because it's Laura, she means yes, he will eventually stop talking... like, maybe in a half an hour. Or more. Her wrap is loaded up with hot peppers and hot sauce, it's like a firestorm in there, and although she's eating slowly she doesn't seem to notice the burn.

Or she just likes it, who knows.

The vendor has to stop talking to them shortly when another customer comes up, one who is probably much less inclined to let him chatter at them than Laura is. To be fair, the guy is very nice and hasn't given either of them the stink-eye even though they're both dressed like a couple of juvenile delinquents on their way to MTV's Parental Controls or whatever.

You know, as long as Kiden's known Laura, she shouldn't be surprised at how literal Laura can be. It can get somewhat annoying, though. Not right now because Kiden is too busy pushing her falafel into Laura's wrap, but still annoying when she expects something of a conversation. But at least she gave it a try, just like the falafel.

"Let's do something." Something other than sitting here, people watching silently.

Fine, she'll just eat Kiden's while she's at it. She could probably use the extra energy. "Okay," she says, and then. Waits. Because it's not like she has any ideas, her idea of a good time is punching people and being a crazy ninja assassin, or else hanging out in bars playing poker and smoking cigars, which Kiden probably would not enjoy. (Playing poker with Laura is no fun -- Remy taught her and now she never loses.)

"So what do you wanna do?" Kiden should know by now not to ask for Laura's input on anything. Poker is a maybe if there's money to be gotten, but bars and cigars and punching people for the hell of it are no goes. "You got any more money on you?"

"I have five hundred and eighty six shekels." ... welp!! That's just the money she has on her right now, yes. Best not to ask where it came from, since almost all of it was very likely obtained less-than-legally, probably from people who do not need money anymore. Since that's more than enough money for the two of them to get into trouble, and Laura has little need for money on her own, well. She'll allow Kiden to drag her wherever and spend her money on terrorizing the citizens of Baedal.

Of course Kiden has to be the one to ask about it. She hasn't managed to get any more money since the handful Laura gave her during her first week here. Maybe she should get a job. Maybe she should get a life.

She's kind of jealous, really.
