» what do you do with the left over you?

Who: Kiden and YOU. This is an open log for any and everybody.
What: Teens with idle hands are the devil's playthings.
Where: All around Baedal
Warnings:Kiden's mouth.

For someone who is young both in body and mind, it shouldn't be this hard for Kiden to find something to do with herself these days. But with a lack of Laura by her side and her new found partner-in-crime Tommy probably causing mayhem without her, Kiden's left to stroll up and down the city blocks looking for trouble to get into. Let her tell it, trouble just follows her, but it doesn't help that she invites it closer to her with open arms.

She could get a job. Granted, she could use the pocket change, but really... last time she had a job she did it because she had rent to chip in for. Here in Baedal, she just freeloads off Remy and Wanda for the moment. They keep offering her food and a place to stay; she isn't ready to tell them no.

"Nothing," is his immediate reply. He picks up on the hostility in her forethoughts immediately and figures that saying something neutral is maybe his best bet at diffusing the situation. He also takes a step back from the dumpster, because he is perfectly aware that young women don't like being approached by strange men, even if they do have mutant abilities.

He does remember her, though. "You're the girl from the network. The one who knew I was Charles Xavier. I don't mean to interrupt or anything," he says, holding his hands up in a sort of surrender. This is a perfectly normal meeting, yes.

No, not the saviour. Not yet (if ever). Although Kiden is currently playing on every nurturing instinct Charles has and he's having to fight off the urge to get her out of that dumpster, seriously.

Which manifests itself by him casually sliding his hands into his jacket pockets and trying to look as nonchalent as possible, because he knows that's not the requisite approach here. "Sorry. I think I mentioned before that there weren't very many mutants in my world, so when I sense one, well. I get curious. I didn't mean to interrupt."

You wish, kid.

"You don't live out here. ...do you?" He hasn't delved too deeply into her mind to find out about Laura, Remy or Wanda. Kiden wouldn't be the first homeless xenian girl he's become acquainted with in this city and he's not overly fond of the trend.

"You're not homeless," he says, and it sounds more like a fact rather than a question. Kiden can be suspicious of his powers (presuming she doesn't know the Xavier from her world is a famous telepath) or she can guess he's surmised as much from her attitude.

Which leaves him in a strange predicament. She has the basic essentials to live and she's eighteen. It's none of his concern what she does, but he can't help but feel, well. A little responsible? Like he does for everyone, but especially so for mutants.

There's a little, purposeful exhale --Kiden herself is not vexing Charles (in spite of her attitude) but he feels slightly frustrated by the situation as a whole. There's a lack of resources for mutants or xenians, and life here is, on the whole, much harder for them.

"Nothing. I'm sorry to have disturbed you. I wanted to make sure you were all right and --" he makes a little gesture with one hand. "You're fine." In a certain sense of the word. "So I'll be off."

He steps back a couple of paces and gives a little nod, saying, "I'll no doubt see you around." So unless Kiden stops him, he'll turn to go.

That makes Charles stop just as he's about to turn heel. Old guy, huh?

Two fingers reach to his temple and he replies, "Take a look, kid." The dumpster around Kiden appears to have suddenly transformed into a ball pit. He has an interesting sense of humour at times.
