About midday, a call goes out on the Hellsing filter from Dean, setting this thing up.

By mid-afternoon, with help, there are a couple of grills going, crabs on the boil, tables lined up in the grass behind the guild hall. There's meat, there's shellfish, there's vegetables and side dishes. There's even some wine and beer.

Hello, Hellsing. Come meet and greet your fellow operatives.

As soon as Shiori spots Integra she starts to make her way over. She figures that Integra won't be alone for too long, being one of the big bosses and all, and intends to seize this seemingly rare chance for a one-on-one introduction. She, of course, has no idea how closely she's likely going to be working with her.

Shiori approaches Integra enthusiastically, a noticeable bounce in her step. After being plucked from her home, it's a relief to have landed another job so soon. Especially this one, which has so much potential to do some real good in the city. Integra, in Shiori's mind, is part of what made that possible for Shiori.

"Good afternoon!" The English still feels strange in her mouth, magical translating whatever-it-is or not. "I'm Saki--Shiori Sakita." This, of course, is when Shiori notices the gun. It puts her off, as weapons usually do, but a lot of people seem to be armed. Maybe it's a cultural thing. Whatever the reasoning, she soldiers on. First impressions can mean a lot, and Shiori's first impression of Integra is that a negative reaction to a weapon could put her off. "I'm Princess Nuala's new assistant. It's a pleasure to meet you, and thank you for this opportunity. I won't let you down!"

Such a reaction wouldn't put her off, actually; Integra is aware that most people look at her with confusion at best, and discomfort with firearms would actually be a very mundane reason as to why, all things considered. It doesn't bother her. Working at Hellsing, Shiori will have to decide for herself how she wants to handle the reality that this is a violent business.

"Ms. Sakita," she greets, and gives her a small smile. The enthusiasm and cheerfulness reminds Integra in a brittle-bright flash of Seras, and she realizes with a pang how long it's been since she thought about the younger woman. God, she hates this place. She extends her hand though, polite. "Integra Hellsing. It's a pleasure to meet you. I'm glad that you've been able to work with the Princess."

"The pleasure is mine," Shiori answers, shaking Integra's hand firmly. "Princess Nuala is a remarkable woman. I'm very excited to get started."

Shiori looked out over the party, at the members talking and laughing and even frowning at each other. She couldn't help but smile. "Speaking of getting started, how exactly was Hellsing created? I read that its former incarnation was another guild."

It's definitely an interesting bunch of people - many of them somewhat- well. Rough around the edges. But it works, in its little off-kilter way. Through all these strange worlds, there's a sense of camaraderie; men and women who do work no one else can (or will).

"In Baedal? Yes. Though the Guild of Battling Preternatural Horrors had been long-since defunct when I arrived; the records are unkempt. It could have been generations. It was the most efficient course of action to dig up the titles and petition to re-register versus starting anew. Otherwise we'd be lost in paperwork and red tape for ages, and significantly more bothered by the Militia."
