Who: Hellsing personnel
What: The meet-and-greet barbecue.
Where: Out in back of Hellsing HQ.
When: Givdi, beginning in the afternoon, stretching on into the night.
Notes: Dean's network post will be the first comment, after that, just tag in at will to create new threads at the barbecue itself.
Warnings: Contains Alucard. Also contains Dean Winchester. Further warnings to be added as we go AW SHIT I NEED TO WARN PEOPLE ABOUT THAT.

About midday, a call goes out on the Hellsing filter from Dean, setting this thing up.

By mid-afternoon, with help, there are a couple of grills going, crabs on the boil, tables lined up in the grass behind the guild hall. There's meat, there's shellfish, there's vegetables and side dishes. There's even some wine and beer.

Hello, Hellsing. Come meet and greet your fellow operatives.

"If it comes to that, I think it's best, but I'm letting her settle in for a bit first. I doubt she'll recognize you, but she might pick up a bit of a resemblance; she's much closer to having seen your father alive, and Sirius was her cousin," he says, quieter. "She's still adjusting to me, much less anything else."

Sebastian looks off into the distance and pauses before speaking, "I am so very and unexpectedly glad that my own family isn't here."

He doesn't particularly like this fact and while Malfoy doesn't even know the half of it, it's something he still feels the need to say.

Lucius glances over at him. "I'm sorry. I always... well. It could be worse, for the both of us, I suppose."

Sebastian shrugs. He's (mostly) over it. Rationally, he knows that he'd always had an unrealistic view of what his parents' generation was like but it still stings a bit to learn otherwise.

"Your eternal optimism always cheers me right to the cockles of my heart, Malfoy."

That earns a crooked smile. "Well, it's not as if I've been proven wrong terribly often since we've met." It could always be worse.

"And yet, somehow, I don't really find myself reassured." That's not entirely true. It's selfish, but Sebastian knows that he's reliant on Malfoy for rather more than he'd like.

"Since you're so often right, I had an idea and sometime soon, I'd like to run it by you."

"Oh? Should I ask what sort of idea?" He was caught between caution and curiosity.

"Disastrous or brilliant. I don't know yet, but I've got a feeling that it'll be something," he says, pausing for a moment to gather his thoughts. "One of the staff here, I met him briefly in Bete Noire, he, ah, he's a wizard of a very different tradition and seems to be willing to work with me a bit. He might have some ideas about what I can do to...to, maybe, recover a bit more or not."

"Worth a shot, I figure."

"As long as you go carefully, it could be," he agrees, thoughtful. "Would you like any help, or... well, if nothing else, I could keep an eye on what's happening."

"I would. He works here and Sir Hellsing trusts him, but..." But Moody would insist on having a back-up plan, even if such a plan consisted of a single Malfoy.

"It is a bit of a long shot, I know, but I think I need to try," he continues, letting a little of his uncertainty show through. Sebastian is committed to meeting with Sol, but that doesn't mean he's confident of the results.

"I think you do need to try. If not this way, some way." It's not gently said, exactly, but it is almost supportive. Sebastian's not whole without his magic, and Malfoy's seen it more directly than most.

Sebastian nods. It's something he already knows, but it still makes him uneasy to admit. Not only is he uneasy having someone else looking too closely at him, but also he suspects that the end result is that Sol will be disappointed in him.

"I know he's not one, but I've never liked doctors."

Lucius sighs. "I can't say I'm over-fond of healers myself. But if you've your wand back, that must signify something."
