About midday, a call goes out on the Hellsing filter from Dean, setting this thing up.

By mid-afternoon, with help, there are a couple of grills going, crabs on the boil, tables lined up in the grass behind the guild hall. There's meat, there's shellfish, there's vegetables and side dishes. There's even some wine and beer.

Hello, Hellsing. Come meet and greet your fellow operatives.

Jack made his way out to the designated place where Dean had set the barbecue up behind the Hellsing guild hall. It was hard to miss, and even if he hadn't gotten the message in the first place, he probably would have wandered out to see what the fuss was all about anyway. Knowing what it was was an added bonus.

The message had been cute, he thought, their invitation there. 'Give you crabs' indeed. This Dean guy was obviously more than a little cheeky. Which was fine for Jack. He rather liked cheeky. Then again, Jack liked pretty much anything, so that wasn't exactly a feat by any means.

Jack wasn't really much of a cook. Well, not for large groups of people, anyway. The fact that he had learned to cook far away and long into the future meant that he really didn't know how to work with the ingredients they had there, and without the means to experiment himself, he was content to stand back and let other people handle it instead. So instead he had a glass of beer in hand and was standing back, watching the crowd, a smile on his face, in his usual outfit of trousers, button-down, braces, and RAF greatcoat.

Jack rocks on his feet, looking down at his coat with a shrug and a smile. "Thanks. It's an original," he says, with a tilt of his head, before he holds out his hand to shake Dean's, shifting his glass into his left hand.

"Captain Jack Harkness," he says, with one of his wide, matinee idol grins.

You'd better believe it does, Dean. And almost all the guys as well. Although the pheromones help as well.

Jack shakes his head, his grin widening. "Not yet, no. I figure you could help me out with that, though, now couldn't you?" Yes, Jack is flirting with Dean. Yes, he will back off a little if Dean outright tells him that he's not into guys. But nothing short of Dean telling him straight that his flirting makes him uncomfortable will get him to stop completely.

"Hullo again." Sebastian sought out Jack both to make sure the man survived the creature invasion and, more unusually, because he's found that he genuinely enjoys the other man's company.

Jack turns to greet Sebastian with a smile. "Hey there," he says, with a grin. "Fancy meeting you here, of all places," he jokes around, rocking on his heels and stuffing his hands in his pockets. "Did they lure you out with the promise of crabs then, too?"

"Less crab and more that I'm a bit like a bad penny," he says with a small, quiet sort of smile. While not a particularly demonstrative man, Jack ought to be able to tell that Sebastian is pleased to see him.

"Really, I just work here."

"Like a bad penny?" Jack asked. Usually, he was better with modern slang, but every now and again there was one thing that escaped him, having lived a sheltered life with Torchwood during the 20th century, and this was definitely one of those times. "What d'you mean by that, then?" he added, with a smile/
