She returns her attention to McCoy, picking up his medkit again, ready to follow him. "That had to be disappointing, being back here."

"I believe it. There are people here I care about but I think it would be better to miss them than to stay on here."

Somehow she's not surprised he has one; he fits in so well here and doesn't mind all the other dogs.

"That's lovely. I've thought about taking a dog or two home myself, but I'm out of work right now. Maybe once I find a steady job again."

She follows him to the next bedside. It's heartbreaking how many people are here, needing help.
"Do you volunteer here regularly, Dr. McCoy?"
