What: A show premieres at The Vault.

The show starts at nine o'clock, and the bar is full pretty quickly thereafter, but the variety in the club is pretty striking. Xenians in their best suits, non-Xenians in leather and ripped fishnets, everything in between. There doesn't seem to be a lot of cultural divide here between human and not, even given recent issues. Hasibe makes good on her promise to have members of her cohort given seating preference, as she's sweet-talked the cocktail dress-clad hostesses, and the bartenders (in their vague approximations of suits with very open shirts) are aware that she's invited a lot of heavy drinkers. ...she just assumes people in her cohort want to drink--they've been kidnapped to a strange city with many new things to offer, so why wouldn't they?

Hasibe, creature of sometimes-stealth that she is, manages to sneak up behind him and lean one hand on the table. She's not quite leaning over Kirk's shoulder, but she's close.

"She says the best part is the scars afterward," Hasi says, with a little shrug, "your mileage may vary. Hi."

He smiles without diverting his attention from the girl; it's not often someone gets the drop on him, and he's enjoying that.

"Scars, huh? Guess I could see that. Me, I'd think the best part would be the rush when the endorphins kick in." And now he turns, smiling up at her. "Hi."

When she settles down next to him, finally, it's sitting on the stool there backwards, leaning her back against the stage edge. Hasibe tilts her head back a little, smiling.

"I can't say. Are you thinking about giving it a shot? Some people do the backs of their knees..."

He watches her settle in--look, he's not going to pretend he doesn't appreciate an attractive woman when he's in the company of one, and goddamn is she an attractive woman. But he's respectful, his gaze appreciative and not a drooling leer. He's grown up since Iowa; responsibility and authority will do that to you.

"Seems like the kind of thing you ease yourself into," he observes. "I'm certainly intrigued. Not sure I should be trying anything on the spur of the moment."

"Not one for impulsive behavior?" She meets his eyes, her smile faint and a little playfully skeptical--or maybe like she's interpreting that as a challenge. What trouble can she get you in tonight, Captain?

He laughs, shaking his head, though he holds her gaze. "No, see, that's the problem. I am one for impulsive behavior. I'm supposed to be trying to curb that. Conduct unbecoming, so they say."

Supposed to be being the operative phrase, here.

She considers him, and then leans forward just slightly, tone low, mischievously conspiring. "I don't know. I think everyone needs a little impulsivity in their lives...within reason, of course."

Hasibe wouldn't get him into any serious trouble. Probably.

"Are you on duty at the moment?"

His smile gains a mischievous edge, his head canting slightly as if to meet the half-shrug of his shoulder. "I agree, but they tell me as a commanding officer I should watch that tendency." His tone probably gives away just what he thinks of that idea. "My CMO, also, has ideas on the matter." Those, at least, he takes a little more seriously. A little.

"And I'm not, no. Completely free."
