"Severus. Merlin." Lucius passes a hand over his face. "Narcissa is going to have his balls. How did he react, to recognizing you?"

"Surprisingly well. Strangely well, even. The Snape I knew, he was a vicious bastard who'd tell me I deserved whatever I got for being so foolish as to let myself get cornered like that."

Sebastian takes one final drag off his smoke before stubbing it out and turning back to Malfoy, "And you? How's the tone at home?"

"I wasn't in when it happened, but I spoke briefly with Narcissa. She wondered if it was Bellatrix again, and that it gave Evan a fright, but that my alternate was holding up." Wryly, he adds, "Also that you promised her an explanation."

He considers a moment, then adds, "The princess wants to see you. I promised Kirk I'd let him know when you turned up, as he was assigned to make sure you got here in one piece."

"The story, such as it is, is that Snape was working in his lab and a spell backfired in some new and painful way, but of course, Mrs Malfoy will get the whole story." As much as Sebastian likes Narcissa, she's only slightly more/less terrifying than Moody and he knows that when talking to her he can't lie or prevaricate even slightly.

"And, yes, we should call him."

Narcissa does have that effect.

"Do you need anything first?" Wizards (even squibs) before non-wizards - Lucius has come a long way, but this is still, and probably always, true.

"No, I'll be fine." Sebastian runs a hand through his hair, spiking it up in all directions, before ruffling Velcro's ears. "Best go see Kirk, then the Princess."

"Kirk asked for my help as someone with more knowledge of magic; I assume the princess will want to see you alone, but if you'd like the company until then." Lucius will have to think, himself, about what Severus in Baedal means, but he's still more shaken than he's letting on by what happened. (And what it might have meant.)

"I could use the moral support," he says dryly. Just because Snape was convinced that this mess is Sebastian's fault doesn't mean he's going to escape without someone taking him to task.

There may be something wrong with his logic.

Lucius gives him a wry look, but pulls out his CiD and sends Kirk a quick, private text.
