This may have been a terrible idea. For all she knows, Barrett is in a fighting mood, and this is going to end messily for one or the both of them.

Then again, a significant amount of the fault here lies on her own shoulders, and, well—she can't really blame Barrett for having the reaction that she did. And she really would prefer to at least be on amicable terms for the time being, since they seem to be stuck here together, for better or for worse. So she sits cross-legged on her bed, and waits for the knock on the door.

Mina walked up the stairs to the rooms for the humans about ten minutes later, after pulling on a hair of boots. That was something she missed most from the 1720s. Appropriate footwear. As a Kindred, she was required to keep up with the fashion trends of the time, but Baedal seemed to be a collage of different times and places. It was suddenly acceptable to return to her boots and she wasn't going to miss the opportunity.

And, truth be told, finding her boots allowed her to stall a little bit, consider what she was going to say to Jones. Her emotions had been on the surface far more than usual these days, and she knew that wasn't healthy. So she had gone in the opposite direction, burying them. And that hadn't worked out either.

She was confused now.

Everyone had secrets. Mina respected that. But Jones had been her Seneschal. She had trusted her. Respected her even. And now, to find out that she couldn't really be a Seneschal left Mina feeling just a little bit raw.

She rapped her knuckles on the door, a hand raising to lift off her hat. Except that she wasn't wearing her fedora.

Well, she was all out of sorts, wasn't she? This wasn't going to end well.
