Rex was oblivious to Iago's restlessness, having planted himself in the bedroom to fuss over his snake. The long black serpent was a familiar and welcome sight-- Tiamat returned to him through... whatever means transported him, Iago and the others, presumably. The snake, recently fed, was coiled in her terrarium, digesting the rat Rex had given her. Rex had pulled up a chair just to sit and watch her as he jotted down some notes on the alternative physics of other worlds.

He was deep in his recreational note-taking when Iago proposed a walk, and for a moment, he was too distracted to respond. After a few minutes, though, he'd set his notebook aside, grabbed his coat, and followed the soldier out the door.
Rex was somewhat lost in his own world, glancing around at passers-by, shops, the whole general... scenery... when Iago spoke.
