As soon as Shawn's focus was on Styx, Gabriel removed the dagger and sank into the shadows again, disappearing from view. Backing away, he made his way over to the corner of the courtyard and silently watches Shawn's reaction. This was really risky, and he knew it.

Leaving an enemy alive just went against his instincts. If he was back home, he would have at least used a mind-numbing poison to drug and confuse the man to the point where he didn't even remember what happened.

Not an option here.

It bothered him more than he wanted to admit.
