Tommy waits until the last moment before he flickers out of view and speeds around to lean up against the wall behind Venom, both so that he can protect the fleeing Xenian and so that he can act like a cocky little bitch. Or maybe it's just the latter.
Either way, when Venom turns to see where he went, Tommy raises an eyebrow and gives him a little two-fingered flick of a salute.

For all that he'd been warned about how dangerous Venom can be, Tommy isn't scared right now. What he sees is a sad pile of black muck. Black muck with teeth, yes, but that's not nearly as scary as an incoming army of Skrulls. And he blew those guys up pretty easily, so he doesn't see the danger here.
