Mitchell is coping considerably better with the idea of a city that abducts dead people since he and Ivan last spoke. It's partly thanks to Hasi, and partly because, once things were settled at the Inn, he was able to go out and really see things for himself on the way to finding Mafaton.
He may have dragged his heels a little bit along the way, stopping to look at a building or a shop window. It's not that he doesn't want to see Ivan so much as at their last reunion, Mitchell ended up bleeding and tossed aside on a car park floor.
