Ivan is alert, and would be if he didn't have the equivalent of vampire cocaine hanging off his arm. (He's very fond of Ilde.) He's frequented several bars since arriving in Baedal; Gutters wouldn't be his scene, normally, but he needs his blood fresh and pumping, and there are only so many homeless to pick off before someone notices.

The fact that he doesn't know what Deacon looks like isn't about to deter him; he has eyes and ears and he's patient. He has no doubt they'll get what they came for eventually.
