Aimery had given Lex a few smiles earlier in the evening as he passed on his errands; unlike certain other House of Ego residents, he wasn't keeping an eye on him on purpose. It was later in the evening —after he'd ditched his annoying breastplate— before he actually found a time when they were both otherwise unoccupied. He headed over to where Lex was loitering, holding a pair of champagne flutes in one hand (one about 3/4 full, he was thirsty ok) and a cupcake with a single unlit candle behind his back with the other.
