vanities: (doubtful ₪ and sharp as a tack)

The spilled light picks him out for her in the gloom and his voice, it's little wonder- he looks dreadful, she thinks, and it shows. He reminds her of Bellatrix upon arrival (which reminds her that the next time her sister swans into the townhouse, she's going to be laying in wait with a comb and a bottle of conditioner, she doesn't care if Bella doesn't care), a thought disconcerting on many separate levels, and none of these things seem to immediately make her less inclined to hold him at wand point.

Besides being of some strange world further along than her own, he damn near cast the Cruciatus on her; he's going to have to work for this one a bit. Emboldened, she takes a step forward and presses the point of her wand under his chin, eyes narrowed. "What in the blazes do you think you're doing, Lucius Malfoy? Are you stark staring mad? And you've broken my damned jar-"

It would be the better part of valour not to point out that a more accurate account of the happening would be Narcissa broke her jar on Lucius. (But it must be her, because who else would hit him and then scold him for it?)
