The university scene is one Jae knows well enough to be familiar with; he's a graduate, after all (even if it was only a two-year degree and he wasn't the best at turning in his papers on time). Something about the broad range of ages, rages and even species is comforting about it - he's still going to have nerves, but it makes him less paranoid to see things in a broad scale, versus just other-Ilde and her I'm a faerie and ... whatever Megan is. (Jae's senses aren't the best, magically; he doesn't know if he'd be able to tell what she is or not.)

"What warning are you giving me about the music? Am I going to be embarrassed for somebody?" Meaning whomever's spinning - unless it's just some kid's iPod on shuffle, or whatever. (Plebeians.) He can pay to cover himself, at least; this isn't Jae's first turn around being broke and needing to be busy despite it. He's not a pick pocket, but he's got his own ways. (Wiles? Ways.)
