"I did this for you," he said flatly, setting one of the plates and before Iago. He slid a container of soup over, then started on opening the wine bottle, mouth still set in a frown. "There's nothing wrong with splurging every once in a while." Well, so long as there were finances to back it up, which Rex... now lacked. He began to pour the wine, then paused, a slight edge in his voice.

"You're going to track my spending?" He looked up from the tumbler. It was a reasonable request, or it would've been reasonable to anybody else, but Rex was a little touchy. He took it as an effort to control him, rather than, well, responsible budgeting.
