Women in formal wear are nothing new to Allen, nor is encountering horses on the streets, though he's much more accustomed to riding in carriages drawn by them than on them. As for interrogations, well. He's been freshly acclimatised to those. The swords are what really catch and hold his attention, and while he doesn't disregard the possibility that their owners may know how to wield them, they do strike him more as marks of status at the moment.

Basically, none of these elements seem too odd when considered on their own. Once combined, however, their net effect does give him pause. These... Are some pretty imposing ladies. But ladies they are, so he wastes no time in bobbing a smile their way.
