Then again, Katniss gets a bit enthusiastic when it comes to archery. Her range with the recurve -- which is what she learned on as a little girl -- can easily get up to a couple hundred yards, accurate at about fifty, maybe sixty given her natural talent. Forty yards is more than she needs for hunting anyway, but the scope would be useful for small critters like squirrels, who like to hide on the other end of a tree if they hear you coming.

The grenades are just kind of cool. "Do you have any grenades?" she asks, after a pause, half-hoping the answer is no because that does sound kind of completely insane!
