She hesitates a moment, idly fingering a shirt. "I had trouble with it when I was a kid," she admits. "The red hair, the freckles, the being different and all. But when I grew up... I don't know. I guess I got more comfortable with being different. Anyway. I'm from California but I'd moved to New York for a job like... a year, almost, before I wound up here. What about you?"
