Irene is inspecting jewellery, contemplating earrings with a thoughtful seriousness that some might deem excessive. She is distracted, however, by Cindy angling herself in front of the mirror, and takes a few moments to analyse the dress out of force of habit; she's an ardent observer (and critic) of other people's fashion.
