Shrieky wasn't trying to initiate conversation with Tyrion, but he's not about to dismiss anyone who validates his temper tantrum. He frowns, giving the book a disapproving look, "The women at the desk told me that it was a good book for starting out with, and that she had read it when she was a little child. Why would someone make children read that?"

Unless they were trying to turn the children against either cats, or fish, he's not entirely certain what they could be expected to get out of it. Reading seems pretty overrated so far.
