captaincocksure: (shocked)

"Martha. Bones. Thank god you're here."

He's clearly a bit shell-shocked by what he's seen tonight. But he's a captain, and that Starfleet training does what it should, kicks in when he needs it to.

"There are nine of them here. No visible injuries but they've been given something. Some kind of toxin or drug, that's all the real information I have on it, but there are samples of it on a cart in one of the chambers at the back. It's made the children like automatons or something. Quiet, compliant. Obedient. There are also five adults secured in another chamber. One is dead. Three more have gunshot wounds and the fifth, I just punched him a lot."

He pauses. He glances at the girl he's holding--and he's made no move, at all, to set her down or hand her to either of the doctors--then down at the others.

"They have no outward physical injuries." He hesitates again. He just-- he doesn't even know how to say it. "The men holding them here were... were selling them out. To be... used. So they might need to-- might be hurt--"

His arm tightens around the girl curled into his side. What he saw, what's happened to these kids, it's so incomprehensible to him, he doesn't even have words for it.
