Steph blinks. Blinks some more. Then slowly takes a calming breath, which isn't as effective as it should be, considering the rebreather, but it's better than nothing. She's stopped flailing so much now that the water is more buoyant (it's weird but Steph isn't one to look a gift horse Rhinemaiden in the mouth and her cape is heavy).

She'd say hi, but that would involve a lot more water in her mouth than she's comfortable with, so she waves instead. Steph is not above trying to make friends despite the completely ridiculous circumstances and at least Ilde seems like she isn't planning to drown her.
