Megan is not great at hiding the way she feels -- she never has been, she's always been the type to wear her heart on her sleeve. At the same time, she loathes the idea of coming across as whiny, or worse, needy -- because being needy means you're vulnerable, which is not really a luxury she's been able to have. Cute girls can use vulnerable to their advantage, but Megan's had that mutant thing working against her.

Being viewed as cute is actually a very recent development for her. A Baedal-specific one.

She smokes without saying anything for a while, internally debating about this. "Yeah," she says, after some time, but -- "I don't really want to talk about it." She stubs her cigarette out in a teacup on her coffee table which evidently has been placed there for that specific purpose, because... why bother with proper ash trays, apparently.
