As far as Sebastian is concerned, The Ankh is one of the better places to go in Baedal - accommodating staff, good food, nice ambiance, they're comfortable with Velcro and don't mind that he likes to sit at a table with clear lines of sight. While it's nothing he'll admit to, Sebastian knows that Christmas doesn't make him miss his friends and Britain quite as much as his birthday does. If pressed, he would likely say that the holidays are a celebration and a tradition, but his birthday has always been the sign of things to come, of the promise of a better year, and a reminder that change is always possible.

"Hullo, Jones. Thanks for making it out," he says before accepting the gifts with an honest smile and gesturing for her to sit. Assuming she does, Velcro will trundle over and make himself and his need for attention known. "May I open it now or should I wait?"

"Oh, feel free to open it now," she says, sitting, folding her hands in her lap. "And let me know if you already have a copy and I can swap it for one of the others I was considering; I know you have quite a lot of—well, I suppose you'll see once you open it, go on."

"I've heard of her, but I don't have this one. Thank you so much," he says and is honestly pleased by the thoughtful gift. Sebastian is glad that they're sitting and he isn't then obligated to give her a hug.

"Oh, I'm glad! It was a little funny; the shopkeeper was very keen on telling me it was vintage, but I had the same copy at home that I bought nearly-new." If she ever ends up being able to leave, she's bringing all her books back with her. It's a small collection, but one she's very proud of. The Queen had better not have done anything to it.
