[open] you bought a star in the sky tonight/ because your life is dark and it needs some light

Who: Open log. EVERYONE GET IN HERE.
What: Cockatrice Crafts --Baedal's brand new craft fair/market!
Where: Howl Barrow.
When: Sukkardi 12th of Ceidary.
Notes: This is an open post for everybody since we have so many new people joining. There'll be a sub sections in the post itself for general areas but other than that, feel free to mash you characters together like Barbies!
Warnings: None yet.

Baedal is a city that never sleeps, but everyone likes a long-lie in on a Sukkardi morning. At eleven o’clock, the Howl Barrow is climbing to a weekend buzz but it’s not quite there yet. But right off Carnelian Street, Cockatrice Markets is already has its doors open –and bubbles are floating down the street in welcome!

The Market is housed in what once would have been a small, high ceilinged factory building, but the inside and outside has now been painted all manner of colours and murals by local artistic residents. There are tables inside the airy structure, as well as in the outside alleyway, and a large mosaic chandelier dangles outside the entranceway.

It’s free entrance, fun, and like most places in Howl Barrow, friendly and inviting.

There is a brief moment where Clio startles at the touch, but it passes before she's even turned to see who caught her arm, and Emma will be on the recieving end of a bright smile.

"Emma, hi," It's pretty clear she isn't holding the whole attempted-throwing-into-the-wall-thing against Emma, "It's nice to see you, how has the city been treating you?"

Hopefully she's less distressed than she was last time, and while Clio is curious about Marty, the man who should be dead, she won't ask outright.

"Hi," Emma repeats sort of dumbly. This sounded so much better in her head; it doesn't really translate well to real life. "It's been all right, actually. There aren't hunters on my tail," though she's heard things about the Militia, it isn't quite the same, "and there's... Marty." Ask (silently) and ye shall receive, apparently.

Expanding upon that simple statement, "The sorcerer I was freaking out about in the video when I first got here... That's my brother. Maybe that at least gives some perspective about my state of mind." That's almost like an apology, right?

Clio would comment on the hunters thing if the confession about Marty being Emma's brother wasn't a more important realization. Her expression and tone are sympathetic, "I'm sorry." Because that means he's dead in the world Emma came from.

"You didn't have to explain, but thank you anyway." There are still a lot of questions, but all of inappropriate, so she just goes with, "Have you had a chance to talk to him?"

"I feel like if I try to fuck somebody up from the word go, I should probably explain why." There's a small shrug to accompany the words, and it doesn't necessarily ring hollow so much as it does leave more to be desired, perhaps.

She smiles faintly, it's somewhat strained. "We did talk when I arrived. We do talk a lot. It's... weird. But there's not much I can do about that." Emma presses her lips together and crosses her arms. If this feels awkward, it's probably because it is.
caoineadh: (pb ⚜ but I'll cheer you on)

There's a moment of confusion, where she considers pointing out that Emma didn't really 'fuck her up'. It was just a shove, and it's definitely not the worst thing that's been thrown at Clio by someone scared and confused and lashing out. But - well, it's really just arguing semantics and its doesn't seem appropriate. Instead, she concedes, "Probably."

There's no strain in her smile, but it's still small, "I don't know what I'd do if I suddenly saw my parents again. I think 'weird' must be an understatement." Referencing her parents isn't meant to detract from what Emma's going through, rather it's meant to indicate that Clio can understand, at least partially, "Are you both doing okay?"
