Call it a foolish notion, but she feels a little sorry for Rex. Granted, most of the time Cindy thinks he's a pitiful puppy in need of a newspaper to the nose, but this time... well, abandonment is abandonment no matter who you are. Lord knows Cindy knows those feels.
