nolimitation: (my black eye casts no shadow)

God, Olivia hates that smile. She'd like to be able to say it doesn't get under her skin, but it does, every time. She gives her a tight, thin-lipped smile in return. It doesn't even come close to reaching her eyes, and overall the impression is more that she'd like to punch the other woman than that she's actually feeling friendly.

"It's fine," she answers, which is stupid and she knows it - left to her own devices, the hospital's exactly where she'd probably go first - but something about Fauxlivia makes her contrary just for the hell of it. The memories of what the woman did to her, the full extent of the damage, fresh and painful for having just been recovered, aren't helping either.

It was one thing to try to put things behind them and move on when she had her life more or less together and they had a common goal to work toward, but now... Now all the old anger's coming back, and it's not easy to rein it in. Fauxlivia might not be the source of her current problems, but she makes a terribly convenient target.

"Agent Farnsworth didn't mention you were here," Olivia says, still watching Fauxliv with the intent stare of a predator encountering a rival, bracing for a fight. She swallows hard and holsters her own weapon, somewhat reluctantly. Even if she did take care of that monster for her, she still doesn't trust her counterpart. "Personally, I would have been fine with saying hello over the network."
