It's not something he's mentioned, but Charles has in fact been trying his best to keep out of Erik's head more than usual (even if it is apparently so gosh darn comfy). They're living together, they spend a lot of their free time together --even the resident telepath realises a man needs his privacy, and so Erik has been granted an amnesty that's similar to Raven's.
Unless, of course, he becomes particularly worried about his friend. But that hasn't happened. So far.

He gives a last grin to Erik before going off to look, which takes a good fifteen minutes or so, and even then he hasn't reveled as much as he wants to. Once he comes back, he says, "I stand by my original assessment."
