Roars turn into howls, but the creature is not yet dead by any means; whether it split on purpose or simply survived the process is impossible to say upon simply looking at it, but it doesn't matter. Jae is alive, and Sunny propels himself through the air to land near where the mage-in-training was flung back. There are thoughts to analyse later, like, the true meaning behind how the other man's blood fed his own spell beyond the simple narrative conventions of magical sacrifice, but even Sunny, sometimes, needs to focus on one thing at a time.

Hands go out, summoning up his own power. It twists the air like heatwaves, colours distorting as if light were being bent in the process, and what turns around the two men is something like a tornado, as if one could remove the motion of wind and replace it with pure kinetic force. It funnels towards what Sunny deems to be the bigger half, and mercilessly, it begins to tear whole pieces off of the monster, its inky flesh caught into droplets sheared back with telekinetic energy, particles scattering and more solid pieces like ligaments, bone teeth, exoskeletal plates, and membrane eaten away like sand beneath a harsh wind. Whatever pulpy mass is left is tossed aside when Sunny waves his hand, splashing into mud, twitching but otherwise motionless.

He should probably be at least tired, but if he is, he hides it well. By the time he's turning towards the other half, hobbled by being unable to reassemble but determined to devour at any cost, it's flinging itself towards them. A wordless exclamation follows a fresh lashing of magic, blunt-force rolling the monster back, before that same storm of energy begins again, this time dismembering it into a further two pieces first before ripping it to shreds in that time-sped sandstorm method.
